Diesel is one of the cigars that built AJ Fernandez’s reputation before his own name was on the band. He started out making value house brands for the catalog retailer Cigars International, and Diesel, a bold, full-flavored Nicaraguan smoke priced to move, became a fan favorite for delivering far more cigar than its price suggests.
Made at Tabacalera AJ Fernandez in EstelÃ, Nicaragua, the brand is known for heavy, well-constructed blends with plenty of pepper, earth, and cocoa. Its standout line, Diesel Whiskey Row, comes from a partnership with Rabbit Hole Distilling: the Mexican San Andrés binder is aged in used bourbon barrels, a first for Fernandez. No-nonsense and high-value, Diesel cigars are a workhorse with real pedigree behind them.
