La Aurora

La Aurora is the oldest cigar factory in the Dominican Republic, founded in 1903 by Eduardo León Jimenes in Santiago. More than a century later it remains family-owned, part of the León family’s business empire, and it carries the title of the country’s first cigar maker with obvious pride. The house style is refined and balanced, often built on Dominican and Ecuadorian tobaccos. Its flagship 1903 Preferidos come in a distinctive tapered shape and aluminum tubes, while lines like the 107 and Guayacan run fuller. Now led by Guillermo León, the company blends old-world experience with a modern lineup. Steeped in over a century of know-how, La Aurora cigars are a Dominican benchmark with deep roots.
