Sarzedas
Sarzedas is a name J.C. Newman dusted off after more than a century. U.S. Patent Office records show the company first rolled Sarzedas cigars in 1900, back when it was sold as “The Aromatic Cigar.” Drew Newman, the fourth-generation owner, long wanted to revive it and finally did in 2025, once he had a blend worthy of the name.
The new Sarzedas is handmade at J.C. Newman’s PENSA factory in EstelÃ, Nicaragua, and blended by longtime company man Rich Dolak. It pairs a silky Ecuadorian Shade wrapper with Dominican and Nicaraguan binder and filler, and stays true to the original idea with an aromatic character and a lightly sweetened cap. Mild, smooth, and easygoing, Sarzedas cigars are an approachable everyday smoke.
