The Tabernacle
The Tabernacle is one of Foundation Cigar Company’s signature cigars, blended by founder Nicholas Melillo. Before starting Foundation, Melillo spent years at Drew Estate and had a hand in Liga Privada, and he built The Tabernacle around the dark Connecticut Broadleaf he grew up around in the Connecticut River Valley.
Rolled at the AJ Fernandez factory in EstelÃ, Nicaragua, the original wears that oily Broadleaf wrapper over a Mexican San Andrés binder with Nicaraguan and Honduran filler, for a rich, full-bodied smoke of cocoa, espresso, and pepper. The name comes from the biblical tabernacle that housed the Ark of the Covenant, and the box carries a portrait of Haile Selassie. Deep and complex, The Tabernacle cigars are a modern favorite.
