Description

The AVO Syncro South America Ritmo Toro is a box-pressed 6 by 54 toro from AVO, the brand started by jazz pianist Avo Uvezian and made today by Davidoff in the Dominican Republic. Ritmo is Spanish for rhythm, and it was the third blend in AVO’s Syncro series.

The blend covers seven countries. An Ecuador wrapper and a Mexican binder hold filler from Brazil, the Dominican Republic, Honduras, Nicaragua and Peru. Davidoff rates it 3.5 out of 5 for intensity and calls it the most intense flavor profile in the AVO portfolio, and Davidoff notes the Toro is one of the most popular sizes in the line.

Davidoff describes it opening with roasted nuts and black pepper, then picking up South American spice and earth from the Peruvian and Brazilian filler, with cocoa and black coffee through the rest of the smoke. Expect 50 to 80 minutes.

Davidoff suggests a red blend with it. It also pairs well with coffee or bourbon.
