Liga Privada
Liga Privada was never meant to be sold. The name means “private blend” in Spanish, and that is exactly what it started as: a cigar Drew Estate president Steve Saka built around 2005 for his own humidor and to share with friends in the trade. Its “No. 9” marks the ninth and final recipe before he got it right, and demand from everyone who tried one pushed it onto shelves.
Built around a Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper fermented for more than 18 months, the cigars are rolled in small daily batches at La Gran Fabrica Drew Estate in Nicaragua and aged a full year before release. A second blend, T52, uses a stalk-cut Habano wrapper for a brighter, spicier profile. Dark and deliberately scarce, Liga Privada cigars have earned their cult status.
