Aganorsa Leaf

Aganorsa Leaf is a grower first and a cigar brand second, and that order is the whole point. In 1998, entrepreneur Eduardo Fernández went to Nicaragua determined to grow tobacco that captured the character of pre-revolution Cuban leaf. He hired a team of former Cubatabaco agronomists, men who had worked through Cuba’s golden age, and planted his crop before he had a single customer lined up. The result is Aganorsa, a Cuban-seed Nicaraguan tobacco grown in Jalapa, Estelí, and Condega. The company is so proud of the leaf that it trademarked the name. Known as Casa Fernández until 2018, the brand uses only its own tobacco across lines like the Aniversario and the Arsenio, named for the late master Arsenio Ramos. From seed to ash, Aganorsa Leaf cigars are controlled by one company, and the Cuban-style flavor shows it.
