Handmade in Nicaragua, the Perla del Mar Corojo Corona Gorda is a Corojo-wrapped corona gorda from Perla del Mar.

It blends a Honduran Corojo wrapper over a Nicaraguan binder and filler at a medium to full body, leading with leather, red pepper, dry cedar, and a sweet, earthy core. At 5 1/2 by 46, it burns cool and even.

Corojo 99 is the modern version of the leaf, bred to shrug off the diseases that made the original such a headache to farm, and it kept the pepper intact.

Pairs well with bourbon, espresso, or porter.
