Description

The Romeo Y Julieta Reserva Real Gran Toro Tubo is a Connecticut-wrapped toro from Romeo y Julieta, handmade in the Dominican Republic. Romeo y Julieta dates to 1875 and is named after Shakespeare’s tragedy; this is the non-Cuban version.

It blends an Ecuadorian Connecticut wrapper over a Nicaraguan binder and Dominican and Nicaraguan filler at a mild to medium body, leading with cream, cedar, blanched almond, and a gentle white-pepper snap. At 6 by 54, it burns cool and even.

Shade grown leaf is kept under cover so it never toughens in full sun. Thin, pale and mild is the whole point, and it is why a Connecticut wrapper reads as cream and cedar rather than pepper.

Pairs well with coffee, cream ale, or champagne.
