Handmade in Honduras, the Oscar Valladares Super Fly Maduro Toro is a San Andrés-wrapped toro from Oscar Valladares, the Honduran maker. Oscar Valladares makes cigars in Danlí, Honduras, and is known for wrapping his Leaf by Oscar cigars in a whole tobacco leaf instead of cellophane.

It blends a Mexican San Andrés wrapper over a Honduran binder and filler at a medium to full body, leading with cocoa, espresso, black pepper, and a sweet, almost-syrupy dark earth. At 6 by 54, it burns cool and even.

Mexican San Andres has become the default maduro wrapper across the industry, to the point that a cocoa note on a dark cigar is usually this leaf doing the talking.

    The Super Fly is a chocolate stick cigar. I found a rich dark chocolate note that was prevalent in the entire cigar from beginning to end accompanied by soft pepper notes and cedar. The final part of this cigar was oily and left a lasting impression that made me want to smoke it again! Highly recommend for Maduro enjoyers and anybody who enjoys chocolatey cigars.
