From Nub by Oliva, the Nub Maduro 460 is a Brazilian Arapiraca-wrapped gordo, handmade in Nicaragua.

It blends a Brazilian Arapiraca wrapper over a Nicaraguan binder and filler at a medium to full body, leading with cedar, coffee, black pepper, and a sweet, earthy core. At 4 by 60, the thick ring keeps the smoke cool and rounded over a long burn.

A ring gauge this big holds far more filler than wrapper, so the blend’s core leads and the wrapper sits in the background. It also burns cooler, which is most of why thick cigars have taken over.

Pairs well with bourbon, espresso, or porter.
