Description

Espada means sword, and Montecristo names the sizes after its parts: the guard that protects the hand, the ricasso that sits just above it. The line is rolled at Plasencia in Esteli.

A Nicaraguan Jalapa wrapper covers a Nicaraguan puro, medium to full in body. Expect cedar, coffee, sweet spice and a peppery finish. At 6 by 50, the toro is long enough to develop without turning heavy.

Jalapa is the northernmost of Nicaragua’s growing valleys, cooler and higher than Esteli, and its tobacco comes out sweeter and milder. Conquistador builds on that leaf as its wrapper.
