Montecristo White is the brand’s Connecticut line, and it is Montecristo in the style most people expect from the name: smooth, creamy and easy.

An Ecuadorian Connecticut wrapper covers Nicaraguan binder and Dominican and Nicaraguan filler, mild to medium in body. Expect cream, cedar, almond and light coffee. At 6 5/8 by 44, the slim ring puts more wrapper against the filler, so the wrapper does more of the talking.

The Especial No. 1 is a lonsdale, a long, slim format that suits a shade wrapper well. With so little ring gauge, the Connecticut leaf does most of the talking.
