Asylum 13 Maduro 880 8″ x 80

Asylum 13 is Christian Eiroa’s big ring line, and the 880 is the largest of them, a full eight inches by 80 ring. It is a Nicaraguan puro under a dark maduro wrapper, made by Christian Eiroa’s CLE from Nicaraguan tobacco through and through.

A dark Nicaraguan Habano maduro wrapper covers a Nicaraguan binder and filler at a medium to full body. Expect cocoa, espresso, earth and black pepper, with cedar late. At 8 by 80 it burns cool and slow, and it will hold your afternoon.

An 80 ring gauge is an inch and a quarter across, wider than most cutters open. A punch or a wide double blade cutter handles it, and it pays to light the foot slowly with a torch so the whole face catches evenly.

Pairs well with bourbon, espresso, or porter.
