El Pulpo by Artesano del Tobacco Robusto Grande Box-Pressed belongs to the same Nicaragua-made El Pulpo line produced by A.J. Fernandez, using a Mexican San Andrés maduro wrapper over Nicaraguan binder and filler. It is sold in 10-count boxes, and it was one of the three original regular-production sizes in the line.

This 5 x 56 vitola compresses the blend into a shorter box-pressed shape, so the cigar tends to feel immediate rather than gradual. Compared with the Belicoso Grande, it gives up some length and taper but keeps much of the same weight through the smoke, with a firmer and more compact presentation.

The flavor often leans toward pepper, cedar, coffee, dark cocoa, and earth, with some sweetness showing later as the cigar settles. Rated 91 by Cigar Insider in 2023, this size reads as a shorter, denser expression of El Pulpo without changing the line’s darker wrapper character.
