La Antiguedad is My Father’s tribute to Cuban history, rolled by the Garcia family in Esteli. The name means antiquity, and the band carries a period scene rather than the usual crest.

An Ecuadorian Habano Rosado Oscuro wrapper covers a double binder of Nicaraguan Corojo and Nicaraguan Criollo over Nicaraguan filler. Medium to full, opening on black pepper that settles into cocoa, espresso and dark fruit. At 7 by 56 it burns cool and long.

Rosado is the shade between natural and maduro, and it is notoriously hard to grow true outside Cuba. Oscuro simply marks the darker end of that range. It is why this smokes sweeter and spicier than a plain Habano of the same size.

Pairs well with bourbon, espresso, or stout.
