Opus X 8 Heaven and Earth Red Macassar

Eight rare vitolas from the OpusX Serie “Heaven and Earth” lineup, presented together in a single curated collection.

The Opus 8 set is assembled by Carlos “Carlito” Fuente Jr. at Tabacalera A. Fuente y Cia. in Santiago, Dominican Republic, with the cigars housed in a limited-edition Macassar Ebony and Red “Father and Son” travel humidor produced by Prometheus. Every cigar inside is a Dominican puro, built around wrapper, binder, and filler tobaccos grown at Chateau de la Fuente in the El Cibao Valley, the first estate to successfully cultivate Dominican wrapper leaf. The Heaven and Earth series launched in 2017 as part of the Fuente Aged Selection program and now spans several rare vitolas, with body running full across the lineup.

The eight cigars span Natural and Maduro expressions of BBMF, Tauros the Bull, and El Escorpion, plus the lonsdale-format Purple Rain and Rare Black Torpedo, giving a side-by-side look at how the OpusX blend reads across wrapper, size, and shape. The flavor across the set tends to lean toward cedar, leather, dark cocoa, espresso, baking spice, and a sweet underlying tobacco character that shifts depending on whether the wrapper is natural or maduro. A portion of the sales benefits the Cigar Family Charitable Foundation in Bonao, Dominican Republic. The format fits a collector’s humidor rather than a single sitting.
