Volition America by Gurkha Maduro Toro 6″ x 54

The Maduro is where the Volition America by Gurkha line turns dark and full. Packed into the red box, it is a 6 x 54 Toro rolled in Nicaragua under a Maduro wrapper fermented to a deep, oily brown.

The core underneath is the same Nicaraguan binder and Nicaraguan and Dominican filler the line is built on, but the darker wrapper pushes the whole thing toward the full side. Maduro shades like this one tend to bring a natural, almost dessert-like sweetness over an earthy base, often with cocoa, coffee, and black pepper in the mix. It is the boldest of the three blends, the one to save for after a meal or next to a strong drink.

The purpose behind it stays the same no matter which wrapper you pick. The Maduro comes 13 to a box, matching the 13 folds of the American flag, and 13 percent of what you spend goes to Folds of Honor and the scholarships it funds for military and first-responder families. A rich, well-built Toro that earns its place on the cause alone.

Pairs well with bourbon, espresso, or porter.
