Handmade in Honduras, the Oscar Valladares McFly Toro is a San Andrés-wrapped toro from Oscar Valladares, the Honduran maker. Oscar Valladares makes cigars in Danlí, Honduras, and is known for wrapping his Leaf by Oscar cigars in a whole tobacco leaf instead of cellophane.

It blends a Mexican San Andrés wrapper over a Honduran binder and Honduran, Nicaraguan and Dominican filler at a medium to full body, leading with cocoa, espresso, black pepper, and a sweet, almost-syrupy dark earth. At 6 by 52, it burns cool and even.

San Andres leaf comes from a single valley in Veracruz, Mexico, where the soil and a long fermentation give it the cocoa and dark earth it is known for. It is the default choice when a blender wants a maduro that tastes sweet rather than just dark.
