J.C. Newman has been making cigars since 1895 and is the oldest family owned cigar maker left in America, still run by the Newmans out of Tampa. Perla del Mar is their Nicaraguan line.

An Ecuadorian Connecticut Shade wrapper covers Nicaraguan binder and filler, mild to medium. Expect cream, cedar, almond and coffee. At 4 3/4 by 52, the box-pressed robusto is short and wide, which keeps it cool and trims the burn time without trimming the flavor.
