From Foundation Cigar Co., the Tabernacle Havana Seed CT No.142 Toro is a Connecticut-wrapped toro, handmade in Nicaragua. The Havana Seed CT No. 142 is a separate Tabernacle blend. The Tabernacle comes from Foundation’s Nicholas Melillo, who spent more than a decade sourcing tobacco for Drew Estate before founding his own company.

It blends a Connecticut Havana Seed wrapper over a Mexican San Andres binder with Nicaraguan and Honduran filler at a medium to full body, leading with cream, cedar, blanched almond, and a gentle white-pepper snap. At 6 by 52, it burns cool and even.

The Connecticut River Valley has grown shade tobacco since the early 1900s, when growers copied the Sumatran habit of tenting the fields. The pale leaf it produced became the standard wrapper for mild cigars for the rest of the century.

Pairs well with coffee, bourbon, or amber ale.
