Description

El Tigre Dominicano takes Drew Estate’s Undercrown in a Dominican-leaning direction, and the Gordo is its thick 60-ring size. The Undercrown El Tigre Dominicano Gordo sets an Ecuadorian Sumatra wrapper over a Connecticut corojo binder and a Dominican-forward filler, soft box-pressed and made in Nicaragua.

The flavor usually leans toward cedar, coffee, earth, and a light sweetness. At 6 by 60, the soft box-pressed gordo gives a long, slow burn.

The big ring suits a longer, unhurried sit. It is sold as singles or boxes of 20, so one is an easy first taste. A newer, Dominican-leaning Undercrown.

Pairs well with bourbon, espresso, or porter.
