Undercrown

Undercrown is the cigar Drew Estate’s own rollers built for themselves. As Liga Privada took off and demand outstripped the tobacco supply, the factory floor was asked to stop smoking the cigars they were rolling, so the torcedores blended their own using many of the same leaves in different primings and vintages. Drew Estate tried it and liked it enough to release it. Made at La Gran Fabrica Drew Estate in Estelí, Nicaragua, and sometimes called an inverse Liga Privada, Undercrown grew into a family of blends: the original Maduro under a dark Mexican San Andrés wrapper, the Ecuadorian Connecticut Shade put together by Willy Herrera, and the Sumatra-wrapped Sun Grown. Medium to full and reliably excellent, Undercrown cigars are a tribute to the people who make them.
