The Chisel is La Flor Dominicana’s signature and Litto Gómez’s own invention, a wedge shaped head used exclusively on LFD cigars. You do not cut it. You pinch the tip until the wrapper splits, and the flattened taper funnels the smoke across your palate in a way a round head cannot. What comes through is serious: the bunch is packed with double ligero, the top priming that takes the most sun and carries the most strength, grown on Gómez’s own La Canela farm in the Dominican Republic. An oily Ecuadorian Sumatra wrapper goes over Dominican binder and filler, and the 6 x 54 format gives it room to build. Expect heavy black pepper, cedar, leather, and dark earth, full-bodied from the first inch and unrelenting to the end. This is a cigar for an experienced palate and a full stomach. Pairs well with bourbon, espresso, or a stout.
