La Flor Dominicana Ligero Natural 707 7″ * 70

Ligero is not a type of tobacco but a position on the plant, the top priming that catches the most sun and carries the most strength and flavor. La Flor Dominicana’s Ligero line is built on it, using leaves grown on Litto Gómez’s La Canela farm in the Dominican Republic, and the 707 is the largest expression of it at a full 7 x 70. An Ecuadorian Sumatra wrapper covers Dominican binder and filler. Despite the power it is not one note: black pepper, earth, and cedar lead, but a creamy texture and a dark fruit sweetness run underneath and keep it from turning harsh. The enormous ring gauge burns cool and slow, so plan on the better part of two hours. Pairs well with bourbon, espresso, or a stout.
