Description

Opus X arrived in 1995 after Carlos Fuente Jr. was told a wrapper could not be grown in the Dominican Republic. The anniversary releases mark how wrong that turned out to be.

A Dominican Sun Grown wrapper covers a Dominican puro, medium to full in body. Expect cedar, sweet spice, coffee and dark fruit. At 7 by 50, the length gives the blend room to move rather than repeat itself.

The Dominican Republic grows most of its tobacco in the Cibao valley, and its reputation for smoothness comes from that soil more than from any blending habit.

Pairs well with cognac, bourbon, or espresso.
