From Byron, Nelson Alfonso’s Selected Tobacco revival of a 19th-century Havana brand, the Byron Grand Poemes 19th is an Ecuadorian-wrapped gordo, handmade in Costa Rica.

It blends an Ecuadorian wrapper over a Peruvian binder and Nicaraguan and Dominican filler at a medium to full body, leading with cedar, coffee, black pepper, and a sweet, earthy core. At 6 by 56, it burns cool and even.

Costa Rica is a rare address for premium cigars, which alone makes this worth trying if you have worked through the usual three countries.
