Davidoff Signature Toro 6″ x 54

The Signature line goes back to 1968, when its predecessor, the Classic, showed up with pigtail heads and caused a stir. Today it is the creamiest blend in Davidoff’s White Band Collection.

The Toro is the big format of the line. The 54 ring gauge carries more tobacco, and Davidoff says that gives it more complexity while keeping the balance. It uses an Ecuador wrapper over Dominican binder and filler, blended from volado leaf, and Davidoff rates it 1.5 out of 5 for intensity.

Davidoff’s notes follow the cigar in thirds: oak with barley and toasted wheat at the start, cream and brown sugar with floral spice through the middle, and cedar, dried fruit and black pepper at the end. It takes a little longer to build and peaks in the middle, with the creaminess holding from first draw to finish. Plan on 60 to 80 minutes.

Davidoff pairs it with a milky coffee. It also works with champagne or a light rum.
