Destino al Siglo translates roughly as destiny to the century, Fuente’s nod to a family that has been rolling cigars since 1912. The sizes carry the sentiment further, and this one is de Familia.

An Ecuadorian Connecticut wrapper covers aged Dominican binder and filler, medium to full. Expect cedar, cream, almond and a peppery finish that arrives later than the pale wrapper suggests. At 6 1/8 by 47, the corona gorda runs long and slim, which keeps the smoke cool and the flavor tight.

A rare Fuente release that shows up in small numbers and does not sit long once it does.

Pairs well with coffee, cognac, or champagne.
