The Herrera Esteli Norteno Toro Especial is a San Andrés-wrapped toro from Willy Herrera’s Herrera Estelí (Drew Estate), handmade in Nicaragua. Herrera Estelí is the flagship of Drew Estate’s Willy Herrera, who blends in a classic Cuban-American style.

It blends a Mexican San Andrés wrapper over a Honduran binder and Nicaraguan filler at a medium to full body, leading with cocoa, espresso, black pepper, and a sweet, almost-syrupy dark earth. At 6 by 50, it burns cool and even.

The Valle de San Andres in Mexico has been growing this leaf since the Spanish colonial period, and its long fermentation is what puts the cocoa note in almost every cigar wrapped in it.

Pairs well with bourbon, espresso, or porter.
