The Toro sits in the middle of the original Jaime Garcia Reserva Especial line, a standard 6 by 54 parejo built around the same Broadleaf-on-Nicaraguan recipe as the rest of the lineup.

The line was developed solo by Jaime Garcia, son of Don Pepin Garcia, with the blend originally crafted for a 2009 release event in New York before moving into regular production. A Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper covers a Nicaraguan binder and a Nicaraguan long-filler core grown on Garcia family farms in Estelí, rolled at My Father Cigars in Estelí, Nicaragua. The Toro measures 6 by 54 at medium-to-full body, sold in boxes of 20.

The profile usually opens with dark chocolate and earth, with leather, espresso, and roasted nuts running through the middle before a finish of black pepper and a touch of cedar. The Broadleaf wrapper sets the cocoa-forward character that distinguishes this blend from the spicier signature of other My Father releases, and the 54 ring gauge keeps the wrapper and filler in close balance across the burn. The format runs about an hour and a half at an unhurried pace.

Pairs well with bourbon, espresso, or porter.
