Description

The HVC Seleccion No.1 Habano Short Robusto is the 4 1/2 by 52 size of the Seleccion No. 1 Natural, the Habano wrapped partner to HVC’s original Seleccion No. 1 Maduro. It began shipping in March 2023.

The binder and filler are Nicaraguan, from Jalapa and Esteli, under an Ecuadorian wrapper grown from Habano 1992 seed. HVC calls it medium to full bodied, with a rich flavor that stays clean on the palate. Cigar Coop scored the bigger Poderosos size 90 points, finding rich natural tobacco with cedar, earth, pepper and a touch of fruit.

It is rolled at Fabrica de Tabacos HVC in Esteli, a boutique factory that makes cigars only for HVC. The line comes in three sizes, Esenciales, Short Robusto and Poderosos, in boxes of 20.

Pairs well with bourbon, espresso, or porter.
