HVC

HVC stands for Havana City, the hometown that Reinier Lorenzo set out to honor when he founded the brand in 2011. Lorenzo left Cuba in 2008, came into the cigar world through the Aganorsa tobacco family, and built HVC around a simple idea: capture the soul of a classic Havana cigar using Nicaraguan tobacco, without trying to copy Cuba outright. For years HVC cigars were made with Aganorsa-grown leaf at that family’s Estelí factory, and in 2022 Lorenzo opened his own factory, Fábrica de Tabacos HVC, also in Estelí. The blends favor traditional Cuban-style vitolas and a medium to medium-full profile, across lines like Selección No. 1, Cerro, and La Rosa 520. Cuban in spirit and Nicaraguan in substance, HVC cigars have a devoted following among classic-cigar lovers.
