Built around the mildest of the three Quorum wrappers, the Shade Churchill stretches J.C. Newman’s lightest value blend across a traditional seven-inch frame.

The line pairs an Ecuadorian Connecticut Shade wrapper with a Sumatra Sungrown binder over Nicaraguan filler, hand-rolled at J.C. Newman’s PENSA factory in Estelí, Nicaragua, using a Cuban sandwich construction that combines long-filler with short-filler scraps from the factory’s other production. Body sits at the mild end of the spectrum. The Churchill measures 7 by 48 and ships in 20-count bundles, going through the same four-step quality control process used across J.C. Newman’s higher-priced brands.

The flavor tends to lean toward cream, light cedar, and a touch of buttered toast at the start, with toasted almond and a soft hay character through the middle before a finish carrying mild pepper and a clean tobacco close. The longer length suits the lighter body, letting the Connecticut Shade character settle in across an unhurried two-hour smoke.
