Description

A.L.R. stands for Aged, Limited and Rare. In 2016 Rocky Patel blended a cigar around a San Andrés wrapper, made a short run of 120,000 cigars, and locked them in an aging room for two years before releasing them in 2019.

The wrapper is Mexican San Andrés over a Nicaraguan binder and filler, and the cigars are box pressed. They’re made at Tabacalera Villa Cuba (TAVICUSA) in Esteli, Nicaragua, and Rocky Patel rates the blend medium to full.

Cigar Aficionado named the Toro size its No. 5 cigar of 2019 and found malted chocolate and vanilla bean with a hint of fresh coconut. The line comes in three sizes, a 5 1/2 by 52 Robusto, a 6 1/2 by 52 Toro and a 6 by 60 Sixty, in boxes of 20.

Pairs well with aged rum, bourbon, or espresso.
