Description

Handmade in Nicaragua, the Gurkha Private Select Ron Abuelo Rum Toro is an infused toro built around Ron Abuelo, the Panamanian rum aged seven years by Varela Hermanos.

The USA Connecticut Shade wrapper is infused with the rum, then rolled over Nicaraguan binder and filler at a medium body. It leads with cocoa, earth and leather, with the rum sitting underneath as sweetness rather than sitting on top of it. At 6 by 50 it burns cool and even.

Each cigar is sealed in a wax-topped glass tube. That is not decoration on an infused cigar: the aromatics are what walk off first, and a sealed tube keeps them in the cigar instead of in the rest of your humidor. It also means this one will not scent the cigars sitting next to it.

Pairs well with aged rum, coffee, or cola.
