Description

Melanio is named for Melanio Oliva, who began growing tobacco in Cuba in 1886. It is the top of the Oliva range, and the Figurado took Cigar Aficionado’s number one spot in 2014.

An Ecuadorian Sumatra wrapper covers Nicaraguan binder and Nicaraguan Jalapa filler, medium to full in body. Expect earth, cedar, coffee and a faint sweetness. At 6 by 52, it burns cool and even.

Indonesian Sumatra leaf built the Dutch cigar trade long before it turned up on premium cigars, and it still shows up wherever someone wants earth and sweetness without pepper.

Pairs well with bourbon, espresso, or cognac.

    My favorite melanio size and smoke out of the collection. One of my favorite smokes and a classic Nicaraguan cigar. Loads of nutty notes and flavor from beginning to end, it was the first Ecuadorian Sumatra I smoked and I love it to this day. The finish does have some kick but the oils are worth it, recommend this to anybody and everybody to try at least once. I will usually pair this now with a red Merlot or Pinot or an aged rum to complement the flavors.
