Description

The Warped Isla del Cocodrilo Toro is a 6 x 52 toro from Kyle Gellis’s Warped, blended by Gellis himself. It is made at Tabacalera La Isla in the Dominican Republic.

Gellis built the blend around an Ecuadorian Habano Deflorada wrapper, which he says adds complexity and richness. It covers binders from Brazil and Ecuador and Nicaraguan filler. His tasting notes are rich dried fruit, cream, leather, oak, cedar and a mix of spices, at a medium body.

The name means Island of the Crocodile, a nickname for Cuba, whose outline recalls the rare Cuban crocodile found only in the Zapata Swamp and on the Isle of Youth.

Pairs well with bourbon, espresso, or porter.
