La Flor Dominicana Double Ligero Maduro Chisel 6″ * 54

Double Ligero is Litto Gómez’s answer to anyone who thinks a cigar cannot be too strong. It is built almost entirely from ligero, the thick, oily, slow burning leaf from the top of the plant that most blenders use sparingly.

A dark Ecuadorian Sumatra maduro wrapper covers Dominican binder and filler grown on LFD’s own La Canela farm. Full bodied: black pepper and dark cocoa off the light, earth and a molasses sweetness through the middle, leather to the end. At 6 by 54 in LFD’s chisel tip, which you cut flat to open up the draw.

Ligero sits at the top of the plant and takes the most sun, which makes it strong, oily and slow to burn. Most blends use a leaf or two of it for backbone. This one is mostly ligero, which is where the name comes from and why it is not a starter cigar.

Pairs well with bourbon, espresso, or stout.
