Description

Don Carlos is Carlos Fuente Sr.’s own blend, the one he actually smoked and the one he put his own name on. Fuente still treats it as the family’s benchmark.

A Cameroon wrapper covers Dominican binder and filler, medium to full in body. Expect cedar, toasted nuts, sweet spice and coffee. At 3 1/2 by 55, it burns cool and even.

Cameroon leaf is thin, toothy and quick to tear, which is why fewer factories are willing to work with it. The ones that do get a roasted, faintly nutty sweetness nothing else quite matches.

Pairs well with cognac, espresso, or port.
