A dark Mexican San Andres maduro wrapper covers Nicaraguan binder and filler, rolled at AJ Fernandez, medium to full. Expect cocoa, earth, black pepper and a dark sweetness underneath. At 7 by 38, the lancero puts more wrapper against less filler than a thick ring gauge does, so the San Andres does most of the talking.

Lanceros are slow to roll and slow to smoke, which is why most lines skip them. Worth the hour when a blend can carry the shape.
