Arturo Fuente

Arturo Fuente Opus X Perfecxion No. 77 Shark 5 1/2″ x 52

The Opus X PerfecXion No. 77 is the Shark, a 5 1/2 x 52 figurado with a rounded head that squares off into a box-pressed foot. A Dominican puro under a sun-grown Chateau de la Fuente wrapper: black pepper, cedar, cocoa and espresso over a natural tobacco sweetness. Medium to full, and one of the shapes Opus X collectors chase hardest.

Description

Opus X settled the argument about whether the Dominican Republic could grow its own wrapper leaf. Every one is a Dominican puro, wrapper included, grown on the Fuente family’s Chateau de la Fuente.

A Dominican Sun Grown wrapper covers a Dominican puro, medium to full in body. Expect black pepper, cedar, cocoa and espresso over a natural tobacco sweetness. At 5 1/2 by 52, the tapered head narrows the smoke and sharpens the blend.

The Shark is the shape Opus X collectors chase hardest: round at the head, squaring off into a pressed foot. It arrives in small numbers and rarely reaches a shelf.

Pairs well with cognac, espresso, or bourbon.
