The Arturo Fuente Opus X Lost City Toro is a rare, well-aged Opus X with a Hollywood backstory: Andy Garcia’s 2005 film The Lost City needed a Cuban tobacco farm on screen, Carlito Fuente supplied the plants, and the tobacco from that scene became the Lost City blend. It is a Dominican puro like the rest of the line, a rich, oily Chateau de la Fuente wrapper over Dominican binder and filler, drawn out here in a long 6 3/4 x 48 toro. Medium-full and refined, it opens on sweet cedar and raisin, then works through leather, oak, espresso, and dark chocolate to a creamy, lightly spiced finish. The slim, longer format stretches those flavors out over a slow burn. Pairs well with cognac, bourbon, or espresso.
