Description

The Herrera Estelí Brazilian Maduro Toro Especial is a 6 by 52 toro from Willy Herrera’s Herrera Estelí line at Drew Estate, made at La Gran Fabrica Drew Estate in Estelí, Nicaragua. It is the maduro counterpart to the Habano blend.

A Brazilian Mata Fina maduro wrapper covers a Connecticut River Valley Broadleaf binder and filler from Nicaragua and the Dominican Republic, medium to full in body. Drew Estate describes it as floral and smooth, with spice, pepper and dark chocolate. The 52 ring gives the blend more room than the Lonsdale Deluxe, so the filler carries a bigger share of the smoke and it burns cooler and slower.

Mata Fina is grown in Bahia, Brazil, and it is known for a naturally sweet, smooth leaf. Taken to maduro, it adds depth without the bitterness a thick, dark wrapper can sometimes bring.

Pairs well with bourbon, espresso, or porter.
