Brick House

Brick House is named after an actual brick house: the one in Austria-Hungary where Julius Caesar Newman was born in 1875, the only brick building in the village, with the family upstairs and the local tavern down below. After founding J.C. Newman in America, he created Brick House in 1937 as a Cuban puro, and it ran until the embargo cut off Havana tobacco and the brand faded. It came back in 2009, when third-generation owners Eric and Bobby Newman revived it with Nicaraguan tobacco. Made at the family’s PENSA factory in Estelí, Nicaragua, the original wears an Ecuadorian Havana Subido wrapper for a medium to full, well-balanced smoke, while the Maduro adds a dark Brazilian Arapiraca leaf. Affordable and consistent, Brick House cigars are a longtime value favorite.
