La Galera

La Galera is the house brand of one of the Dominican Republic’s most respected factories, Tabacalera Palma in Tamboril, run by master cigarmaker José “Jochy” Blanco. The factory has rolled cigars for other brands for decades, and La Galera, launched in 2015, is where Blanco finally put his own family’s name front and center. The name refers to the galera, the rolling gallery where torcedores work, and the cigars celebrate that craft. Built largely on Dominican tobacco, including the factory’s own Corojo, the lineup spans the Connecticut-wrapped 1936 to bolder maduro and Habano blends. Well-made and fairly priced, La Galera cigars are a working cigarmaker’s brand with real Dominican pedigree behind every stick.
