Description

La Galera is the Blanco family’s brand from Tabacalera La Palma, and its anniversary releases count back to 1936, when the family started in tobacco. This one marks the 85th year.

Connecticut Broadleaf and Ecuadorian Connecticut wrappers cover a Dominican binder over Dominican Criollo 98 and Piloto Cubano filler, medium in body. Expect cedar, cream, coffee and a sweet, earthy middle. At 6 by 52, the toro is long enough to develop without turning heavy.

Criollo 98 and Piloto Cubano are two of the classic Cuban seed varieties grown in the Dominican Republic, one sweeter and one stronger, and blending them is how a Dominican cigar gets both smoothness and body.

Pairs well with coffee, bourbon, or amber ale.
