Trinidad
Trinidad is another storied Cuban name, introduced in 1969 and originally a rare “diplomatic” cigar handed out by the Cuban government before reaching the public. A non-Cuban Trinidad exists too, and that’s the one sold in the States, owned and produced by Altadis, the same house behind non-Cuban Montecristo and Romeo y Julieta.
The classic non-Cuban Trinidad is made in the Dominican Republic, but the brand’s recent direction is the Trinidad Espiritu line, a Nicaraguan puro crafted by AJ Fernandez in Estelí to mark the brand’s 50th anniversary, with bright packaging that nods to 1960s Havana. Across its versions, Trinidad runs medium to medium-full with a smooth, refined character. Elegant and easy to enjoy, Trinidad cigars carry a famous name into a modern lineup.
