Opus X settled the argument about whether the Dominican Republic could grow its own wrapper leaf. Every one is a Dominican puro, wrapper included, grown on the Fuente family’s Chateau de la Fuente.

A Dominican Sun Grown wrapper covers a Dominican puro, medium to full in body. Expect black pepper, cedar, dark cocoa and a natural tobacco sweetness. At 5 5/8 by 46, the corona gorda is long enough to develop without turning heavy.

The Fuente Fuente is the classic Opus X corona gorda, and the slimmer ring is a good place to taste the wrapper itself, which is the part of the cigar Fuente fought hardest to grow.
