Description

Two unrelated cigars carry the Cohiba name: the Cuban one and this one, which General Cigar owns outside Cuba. Puro Dominicana is exactly what it says, everything in it grown in the Dominican Republic.

A Dominican Habano wrapper covers a Dominican puro, medium to full in body. The tobaccos are aged en tercio, baled in palm bark, and then rested in charcoaled barrels. Expect cedar, black pepper, espresso and a sweet, leathery spice. At 7 by 49, the length gives the blend room to move rather than repeat itself.

Habano is Cuban seed grown somewhere other than Cuba. Most of it ends up in Nicaragua or Ecuador, so seeing it grown and rolled in the Dominican Republic is the unusual part here.

Sold as a single or a box of 25. Pairs well with bourbon, espresso, or porter.
